When you enter the museum, you’ll see me behind the counter.  I received my business administration degree in Kyiv, Ukraine. Throughout my professional life, I have been involved in services. When Russia attacked Ukraine, I ended up in the wonderful city of Basel.

After studying German and Jewish Studies in Bern, Berlin and Jerusalem, I worked in education for children and young people. Since October 2023, I have been taking on particularly delicate tasks at the Jewish Museum: talking about the unspeakable, communicating the Middle East in an age-appropriate way and preserving sensitive objects in the collection.

I have been a curator at the Jewish Museum since July 2022 and work on preserving and cataloging the collection, a task that allows me to familiarize myself with the Swiss community. I studied Jewish Studies and Art History in Heidelberg, where I specialized in Jewish art. I then spent almost 20 years as head of the collection at the Jewish Museum in Athens, where I was able to gain experience as well as objects.

I was raised in Basel in the 1980s. After working in nursing for several years, I completed a degree in history and Jewish studies at the University of Basel. My research focused mainly on the history of Jews in Switzerland. My doctoral dissertation studied helpers and Jewish refugees in Switzerland between 1935 and 1955, based on the biography of Otto H. Heim. I have been working at the Jewish Museum of Switzerland since February 2021. An early bird, I am always the first in the office.

Originally from Alsace, I have always been passionate about the Jewish heritage of my region. I hold a Master’s degree in Tourism from the University of Angers and first joined the museum as an intern — and quickly felt at home here. Today, I am involved in shaping the visitor experience, from welcoming guests at the reception and in the shop to giving guided tours and supporting events. I do my best to make each visit smooth, warm, and enjoyable.

I am responsible for communication and event-organization at the Jewish Museum of Switzerland. I study art history at the University of Basel.

I am the director of the Jewish Museum of Switzerland. Born in Toronto in 1976, I studied literature and art history in New York and Berlin, specializing in Jewish studies and costume history. I worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Jewish Museum Berlin. I love Basel’s museums and its location at the border of France and Germany – and the chocolate. I also love to write books, interviews and articles.
